FREITAG

Giving used materials a new life is called “recontextualizing” at FREITAG. Whereas similar reincarnations such as From Frog Till Prince or the Cinderella upcycling do not reveal exactly how the transformation process happened and thus leave consumers in the dark, we want to lay our cards on the table.

Transforming used truck tarps into highly functional, unique bags takes place in five highly complex stages at the F-actory:

1. RAW MATERIALS

Anyone who has ever kissed a frog knows that only the best and most beautiful raw materials can be recontextualized into satisfactory R.I.P.s (Recycled Individual Products). And those are rather scarce. A logistical grand offensive is needed to track down so many truck tarps precisely when they are being retired after five to ten years on the road.

2. CUTTING THE TARPS

In our opinion, the Cutting Department at Nœrd is the only place in the world where violence is sometimes the only solution since used tarps are not sold by the yard and you can’t just measure and cut out the amount you need for your bag parts. They are reinforced with buckles, belts and eyelets to keep them on their trucks for years – and all that has to go.

3. WASHING

The tarps are beautified due to the accumulation of many layers of snowy slush, acid rain, acrid exhaust fumes, fine dust particles and the usual grime from all over Europe. That all has to be gotten rid of, however, so we need our two gigantic washing machines, lots of Zurich rainwater and our tarp washers.

4. BAG DESIGN

Other designers produce sketches – our designers create bags. One after the other with a sharp knife at the ready. This is where the process takes place that makes our products one-of-a-kind in the truest sense of the word: each one is unique because there is not another one like it in the world.

5. SEWING

The cut-out tarp pieces have to leave the F-actory in order to complete the transformation. The FREITAG bags are sewn according to our instructions by longstanding partners in Switzerland and in the nearby countries of Portugal, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Tunisia. When the finished FREITAG bags and accessories finally return home, they then have to pass a few hard tests.

And here are photos from my latest collaboration with FREITAG for Ciputra University Design Week, Inovation by FREITAG ;)

XXX Denim

Firstly, I want to say sorry for my existence that doesn't exist this 2 months. It's Sunday and I'm blogging right now :)

These pictures were taken yesterday after doing my interview at Hotel Bumi Surabaya. What interview? Go back to the topic!
Who doesn't love denim? I was wearing Burton Menswear's Denim and the pants from Zara, my favorite brand all time. Take a look at the pattern on my shirt! It's X pattern and I love it. I always have my own confidence when I'm in double denim. It looks manly and pretty casual.

Modest Arrogant

I've been in really creative mood lately and luckily I've had a bit of free time to post something for you :)
Click and snap more while wore my favorite glasses is a must!
So in love with this unique design.
Feeling amazed when people says "Hokzeen Gaga" LOL!
I'm not a fans of Lady Gaga anyway.

And here is my full look:

To match with that glasses, I wore a black embossed shirt and leather shorts.
Try to be anti-mainstream in this look, I wore the socks higher than usual.
The black leather shoes from Pedro is my favorite too :)

Black is modest and arrogant at the same time. Black is lazy and easy, but mysterious.

Soft Breeze

On my last vacation in my hometown, I'm surprisingly hit by the soft breeze.
Woke up in the morning here is like woke up in the top of cold mountain! No, just kidding LOL
Morning walk is one of my favorite activity there ;)

Just another casual morning walk wore my tribal sweater from H&M.
Not like another sweater, H&M's is very comfortable. Fine knitted and nice fit well.
The soft grey color also suit to cold weather.
The point is much love with this sweater :)

Black Number on Stripes

Hi guys! I’m really excited to blogging now, since a few days ago I have a short holiday in my hometown, Tulungagung. I think you don't know where it is, It’s between Kediri and Blitar. It’s a small town but such a happy place. The weather is so adorable, kind people, and serves best food! Happy tummy J

While in Tulungagung, photo taking is a must! Especially, I never took photos there. And here is my casual outfit to conform the situation and condition.

I’m wore black baseball tee from ACDT (Acidity). I love the white stripe in that comfy black fabric (I don’t know what kind of material is that). For the bottom one, I wore semi leather black pants from one of my favorite store, ZARA. To complete my look, I pick a pair of black Pedro shoes.

So that’s all about my first look in my hometown.
Stay curious about next post!

Contrast

Well, I still receive some comments from people saying that they prefer my hair with grey colour, and I was do it two days ago. I bleached my hair 3 times to reach white coloured hair, then put the grey one, and guess why my hair still be like this light blonde? Yeah the result is naught. Mr. Grey don't want belong with me and it was so disappointing.

This is what really happens when I got bored of my kin of Blazer. I'll go for the other outer and let's see what I've picked up...

See what I've got from strolling the new arrivals of Zara! Yeah when we first met, it was crazy and I actually bought it. I love the way my jacket and my jeans, contrasted with this red coloured Fred Perry shirt.

Hope you like it guys :) and stay tunned for next post!
